Conor McGregor is a very well reputed and known Irish professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed with the ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship’ (UFC). He is the former ‘UFC’ lightweight and featherweight champion. He has also specialised in the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight too, and he had participated in so many championships. Also, not just that he is a skilled professional boxer.
He has majorly achieved his victories due to knockouts or technical knockouts via punches. And also, of course, he mastered it after so much dedication, persistence, and setbacks. Once he started as an MMA fighter within a couple of years he won two major titles of Cage Warriors Featherweight and Lightweight Championships, which eventually became the turning point of his life. As right after that he signed “UFC”.
He is very well known for the highest and biggest pay-per-view to draw in MMA history, and he lives the most profligate and spendthrift lifestyle. In short, luxurious. And it was all because of his hard word.
And this is not it, he got featured in Forbes’s top 100 highest-paid athletes list as the first MMA fighter to do and ranked 85th in the list. Also if we go back to his childhood days and see them since the age of 12, he developed a passion for boxing. And also During this period, he developed a passion for football as well and played for a local club too.
The journey began when on March 9, 2008, he fought his first professional MMA bout, where he won against Gary Morris and Mo Taylor. In February 2013, ‘UFC’ signed Conor in a multi-fight contract. On April 6, 2013, he made his ‘UFC’ debut against Marcus Brimage. And with a leap of faith, he earned his first ‘Knockout of the Night’ award.
But as we all know that this journey also includes certain setbacks and hunches too. Like during his fight with Holloway, Conor tore his anterior cruciate ligament, which required surgery. He wasn’t active at all for about ten months, because it required time for healing. And being an athlete it’s difficult to endure not inside the ring. But he overcame it.
And because of that, he has inspired millions of youths to work on themselves. Even though there have been controversies he had maintained to build a hall of fame career. With a hugely significant amount of fan base too. We might just see wealth, fame, and championships but at the back, there are always trials, hindrances, tribulations, and a lot of overcoming.
Also in an interview, he said, “ He said: “When you grow up where I’m from, you get into fights. Being able to defend myself was always something that occupied a lot of my mind. It occupied all of my mind, to be honest.
He really inspires and teaches us to have a confident personality. He also focuses on building community with his like minded people and implementing the structures, systems accordingly to grow.
